Driven by my love for factory builders, I decided to build a tech demo showcasing a small slice of such a factory builder in order to deepen my Unreal Engine 5 and C++ knowledge.
Satisnacktory is my greatest learning endeavor so far. My focus did not lie so much on front-facing game content, but rather on the systems behind it. All systems are completely implemented in C++, Blueprints are only used for UI and prototyping features. Examples include a full-fledged recipe and crafting system, logistics system (for globally driving all machines, conveyors etc.), serialization system for saving and loading (based on Alex Steven's talk and code which is published under MIT license) and more.
